If you’re eager to venture away from flying, the usual mode of transport to one holiday destination, then maybe a cruise is the mode of transport for you. Surrounded by beautiful scenic views and being able to visit different ports, it’s no surprise that cruise holidays remain a popular way to travel.
Traveling is an amazing and life-changing experience everyone should explore, so lack of money shouldn’t stop you from turning your reality into a luxury dream. These six tips can give you all the information you need to know about how to make your money travel further.

1, Online
Searching the internet and finding websites that specialize in offering can be the best way to get huge discounts on cruise holidays. They are able to save you money because they have lower overheads than traditional travel agencies and aren’t aligned with just one particular operator, so you get more of an idea of what is available. Cruise Kings, are one example who operate in this way, so explore their cruise deals to provide yourself with a little inspiration.

2, Book ahead
One of the most common tips to help save money is by booking as far in advance as you can. Booking months ahead allows you to view the best prices as well as getting the first choice of which deck and cabin you want. You also get the chance to control your money outgoings, as booking further ahead means you have more time to pay off your holiday.

3, Book late
If you’re out-going and your passion is to travel no matter where you are, then booking late is a great option for grabbing the discounts. When cruise ships have spare spaces they offer cheaper prices as it’s better to sell them and fill the ship, than leave them empty. This is especially good if you just want to pack your suitcase and take some time out of your ordinary life to travel.

4, Out of season
Depending on the destination you want to go to, booking a cruise holiday out of season is another great way to save yourself some money. For example, you could choose one of these Mediterranean cruises during the winter months. You just have to be prepared that the weather might not be as hot as you would expect on a typical mid-summer Mediterranean cruise – though that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to enjoy some sunshine and plenty of relaxation.

5, Last minute
The option to put yourself on standby is something that is not frequently advertised by cruise companies, but it can be an excellent choice if you don’t have any work or education commitments and are flexible. This allows you to fill another person’s place at a discounted rate if they cancel their cruise holiday, of course it’s not for everyone. But for those who enjoy having a constant flow of excitement hoping for that phone call, it can be quite a rush of adrenaline.

6, Sales and promotions
Just like other travel agencies, cruise companies offer special promotions to persuade new customers to hop on board, these can be dramatic savings that can help you on your way to your first cruise. Every cruise company will offer you different promotions, all typically saving you a significant amount off the original price. You could save yourself a lot of money but you must act fast, as promotions are only available for a limited time only and are usually on first come, first served basis. Signing up for newsletters and interacting with firms on social media will help keep you in the loop about any flash sales.
