Traveling to Costa Rica is really easy. You won’t need pack a lot of things and the weather is so good that if you pack a bathing suit and a poncho, the whole trip will be a success! But of course, there are some travel tips that will help you plan your vacations in this little piece of paradise.
From how to book Costa Rica internal domestic flights, to how to find the best hotel deals…these 5 secrets will give you some ideas to plan your days in Costa Rica.

The first travel tip for choosing the right time to travel. Depending on the reason of your trip, there is a season that fits best. In Costa Rica, there are only two seasons: summer from December to April and winter from May to November; September and October are the wettest months. For travelers, the lowest prices and best deals are offered by hotels in the rainy season; but if you are looking to enjoy some relaxing days in the sun, the high season is the best time for you to go.

It is also important for you to know that in Costa Rica there are more than 10 local airstrips in different popular tourist destinations. Local airlines operate regular scheduled flights or private charters flights and save you many hours of road trips. That means, for example, that going from the international airport to Manuel Antonio National Park will take you 3 hours driving but only 25 minutes if you book a local flight. Besides, you can visit also bordering countries like Panama, since with a local airline you can go from San José to Bocas del Toro islands in just 1 hour…while it would take 10 hours to go by land.

But if you are not a fan of flying and you prefer road trips, this is a travel tip to save some money instead of time. Shuttle services are available for almost all tourist destinations of the country. These services are regular scheduled transfers so obviously are cheaper than booking a private transfer. The only limitation is that you have a luggage limit, because the van will be shared with some other people.

A secret to discover San José, the capital city of Costa Rica, is asking for the free city tours and activities offered by the government and some nonprofit organizations. Throughout the year, experiences such as the Art City Tour are available for both Costa Ricans and tourists. In the front desk of your San José hotel you can always find this information.

And the last secret to help you plan your Costa Rica trip is, if you are not traveling with an all-inclusive package, eating in local restaurants called “Sodas” is the best option. Meals will be better than eating in a fast food chain and prices are always very economic. A “Casado” - as it is usually called the typical lunch in Costa Rica – will undoubtedly satisfy you.

It’s so inspiring to see how your friend reached out, prayed for you, and even brought you flowers and fruit salad—such thoughtful ways to show love and care. It’s this kind of empathy that makes a lasting impact in people’s lives. Thank you for sharing this moving experience.
