Review – TravelPony Hotel Booking

If you’re an avid reader here on Eye & Pen, then you have likely come across a few of my review posts. If you have done just that, then you know that I prefer to write mostly natural, free-flowing articles that are typically a bit odd, a bit whimsical, and (of course) a bit ranty. So with hopes and dreams of not disappointing you, I revisit you in my utmost curious fashion, focusing on a new and up and coming, heavy hitter hotel booking website – TravelPony.com.
TravelPony.com is a brand new hotel booking website with everyday prices that are often 10-70% below the big travel sites. At TravelPony.com when customers login with their Facebook ID, they unlock preferred pricing and some of the best deals around on hotels. TravelPony has launched with 25 markets with over 2,000 top hotel partners, making it one of the best sites to get a deal and book a hotel room.  In the 3 months since it’s launch, it’s catapulted into one of the fastest growing hotel sites with over 40 cities and thousands of hotels.
Entering the Travel Pony website, I’m greeted with (possibly) the absolutely most annoying thing that any website can do – a popup inviting me to like them on Facebook. The worst part is that you literally (unless I totally missed how) can not get out of it, without linking up your account. Instantly, I was annoyed, until I realized that by doing so, you’re welcomed into the website with a $25 travel credit toward your next hotel purchase. While I despise those sorts of popups, I suppose the travel credit gift makes it mostly forgivable.

Within minutes of surfing through their site, searching for the best hotel deals, I went from feeling cross to thoroughly impressed. The way that I understand how Travel Pony works is that they compile all of the hotel deals from hotel websites and other budget booking sites, and only show you the hotels that are offering substantial discounts for you. So, TravelPony works as an automated buffer, cleaning out the junk, and keeping things simple for you as the user, to know what to book, when to book, and how to find the absolute best deal – that’s pretty cool.

I started out by searching through available hotels in New York City, as I’m considering a trip to the Big Apple next month. The search immediately started me off with the results which are saving me the most off the normal ticket price, per say. I found hotels that were found on special for up to 41.4% lower than their promoted retail price. Searching through the booking options further, running searches in other areas of the world, I noticed that the general pick of deals on TravelPony are from rather nice hotels – from 3-5 stars on average. So, if you’re looking for a rather higher quality experience for less, then this isn’t a bad place to get started, surely.

All in all, I find that TravelPony creates a solid bridge that connects you to quality hotels, while ultimately saving you a lot more money, and mainly, saving you a lot more time. When booking a flight, I always check Kayak out first, because they have a quick search that simplifies my options, and saves me a ton of time on booking a flight – and now, when I’m booking a hotel, I will give TravelPony a go first, to see what they have available for me.

TravelPony has been gracious enough to offer two specials to the readers of Eye & Pen…
Just for being a reader of Eye & Pen, TravelPony is offering an exclusive coupon of $50 off a booking of $200 on your next booking at TravelPony. The coupon code is EYEPEN50.

Right now, there's also a $25 credit just for being a customer. If you're traveling and booking, there isn't a better deal around on the top hotels in major markets.

I suppose for the 25 dollar credit I will give travelpony.com a try. Always smart to check sites like booking, BookingHotelStay, and Expedia to get the best deal possible. If travelpony has deals better than them I'm sold.

Oh yes, Checking around is important. Travelpony has nice elements to it, and for a 25 dollar credit it is worth the try! :) My philosphy is: "If it's free, it's for me". lol Let me know what you think of the website.

DO NOT TRUST TRAVELPONY !!!

My comment got deleted. It seems they do not want people to see that this is a rip off. This is false advertising. Try and check for yourself the prices of the same hotel on other sites. Do not trust the prices that travelpony displays. They are actually a lot cheaper.

They lie to you to your face and delete the bad comments from the site. This is why you only find positive reviews.

Stay smart and check for yourselves the information that others feed you.
