So much more to explore in Munich, than the famous Oktoberfest

Munich is a great destination for any time of year. The Bavarian capital has one of the richest city cultures in Germany and is known for much more than the famed beer festival known as Oktoberfest. It has great museums, theaters, cafes, shops and beer gardens. The city is also a wonderful hub of modern art and architecture, as well as its rich history in the automobile industry. Before you go, take a look at endless accommodation possibilities in Munich on websites like Venere, to ensure that you have a fun and comfortable stay. You can also check, if they are actually near to the main attractions or to the city centre and then base your choice not only on prices, but also on locations.
Munich may be known for its modern architectural center and high tech cars, but it also is home to a gorgeous park known as the Englischer Garten. It is the largest green space in the area and is even bigger than the famed Central Park in New York City! You can choose to take a walk through the breathtaking landscape or have a quiet boat ride on the lake. There are some great bike tours you can take, and if you can’t get enough beer, you can take a beer bike tour. The park is famous for its standing wave created by the river, where surfers can be spotted any time of year. The park truly gives you a unique experience that you can’t find anywhere else.

The Bavarian capital boasts some of the best museums in the world, but one really stands out - the Brandhorst Museum. The building itself is an architectural wonder (something you will find a lot of in the city), and has some of the best contemporary art on display. Here you will find pieces from artists such as Andy Warhol and Cy Twombly, housed in this multicolored building. The museum is the newest edition to the center of nearby museums that include the Neue Pinakothek, the Pinakothek der Moderne and the Alte Pinakothek.

Next we have the beer garden culture of Munich, a city famous for its brews and grilled meats. One of the best is located in Wiener Platz, called Hofbräukeller beer garden. It is one of the oldest and most impressive in the city because it enjoys breathtaking views of some of the most famous landmarks as well as the beautiful river. It is a wonderful little excursion that you can take, only 20 minutes outside of the city center, and perfect for cooling down with a tall stein of beer on a hot summer day. If you prefer to relax by turning the heat up you can head over to the Müller'sches Volksbad public baths. These are some of the most gorgeous baths you will ever see, with an amazing turn of the century lavish German interior.

Two of the most incredible works of architecture in the city are the BMW museum and the Allianz Arena. The arena is home to the city's two football teams, and lights up at night according to which team is playing. It is a building that is truly out of this world, as it resembles a magnificent space ship landing in the city; a must see for any tourist. The BMW museum is equally as modern and stunning. There you can even test drive some of the newest models and view the long history of the famed driving machine.
