Start out in Valletta
Tour the ancient capital city, by just wandering around on foot – you will find interesting museums, art and of course, architecture everywhere you go. Staying in Valletta a couple of nights is a must, because if you head just a little ways north, you will run into Paceville, home of most of Malta’s hottest clubs and nightlife.
Just South to the Three Cities
Cospicua, Vittoriosa & Senglea are three fortified ‘little cities’ that are quite close to Valletta, where you can easily get yourself lost in the maze of historic streets and wonderful architecture, fortified by the Knights of St. John.
North to St. Paul’s Bay & Popeye’s Village
For a wonderful drive along the coast, head north of Valletta to St. Paul’s Bay region for great water activities and gorgeous scenery. But before you head south or off to one of Malt’s sister islands Gozo or Comino, be sure to visit Popeye’s Village for it’s quirky and brilliant wooden ramshackle huts and buildings, set along the sea – which is something like no other.
South to Dingli Cliffs
A beautiful 30 minute ride south from Popeye’s Village, you will find yourself along the famous Dingli Cliffs. They tower high above the Mediterranean Sea, at heights up to over 980 feet (up to 300 meters) – and the surrounding areas are full of adventurous hikes and climbing opportunities.
