This means that some designers like to break free from convention and, as is the case this year, some wedding designers are opting to use pastel shades rather than traditional whites or ivory for their wedding dress creations.
Wedding dress shops in London
Also, some wedding dress shops in London are opting to offer fitted trousers to give their brides a unique (and comfortable) look while others are opting for shorter hemlines to help show the brides legs on her big day.
There's also a trend this year for what has been called 'subtle shirting' which sees the bride wearing a shirt of sorts, which essentially means it has a collar, while others are going for the more traditional halter top gowns which have been popular for several years now.
Other trends from well-known wedding dress designers this year include fluttering caplets and wedding dresses with carefully placed cut-outs.
However, watchers of the wedding dress design industry say that this could be a year for cool wedding dresses that are not only stylish but also affordable and some new designers are launching impressive creations to plug what they see as a gap in the wedding dress market.
One of the newest bridal ranges for designer wedding dresses has prices that start at £130 and rise to £800 and offer dresses that have ballerina influences and some have lots of embroidery with swishing tulle skirts.
Attracted big name Hollywood stars
Another brand has launched guipure lace dresses at a budget price which has attracted big name Hollywood stars who generally wear frocks for the red carpet that cost many times more.
Essentially, these designers are looking to create designs that will suit the 'non-traditional bride' who is looking for something a tad unusual which may, for instance, mean wearing a tulle skirt with a crop top!
Other designers have also created designs for the High Street as well as for the growing numbers of bridal shops in London - which include pleated skirts with a pussy bow blouse and in some online retailers are opting for jumpsuits with a 1970s influence – with a detachable maxi cape.
However, one of the trends that is becoming apparent is that designers are acutely aware of the bride organising their big wedding day is on a budget and wanting to create a stylish and memorable dress without the stylish and memorable price tag but for those who are looking for wedding dress shops then the joy is in finding boutiques offering excellent dresses from excellent designers.
