In today’s day and age, the world truly is your oyster. There are so many accessible destinations these days that if you are looking to plan a last-minute summer holiday, there is still plenty of choice.
Of course, there are numerous factors to weigh up. One of course is cost. However, with affordable options such as those found online, cost most certainly doesn’t need to determine the entirety of your holiday. Another major issue is naturally the weather and climate. And then of course, everybody wants something different from a holiday, from relaxation to adventure. Given all of these variables, here are some suggestions below for July.

Europe
Let’s start with Europe. July is very definitely the holiday season in pretty much all European countries, so expect any European destination to be busy. The weather at this time of year is notoriously variable in the north of the continent, but in the southern European countries it is usually hot and pleasant. As a result, destinations in Spain and Portugal are excellent options for a beach holiday. The French island of Corsica is also a beautiful location. If you’re looking for a party though, then check out resorts such as the Spanish island of Ibiza in particular. For something a little different, consider Iceland which has typically comfortable temperatures and an incredible 20 hours of sunshine daily!

Europe is also excellent for a city break. There are so many major capital cities to choose from, each with plenty to do. In July though, Paris is a great place to visit for the Bastille Day celebrations. Another event which is well worth experiencing in July is the ‘Running of the Bulls’ in Pamplona, Spain.

Asia
There are of course some incredible experiences to be enjoyed in Asia. However, July is typically a wet season in popular destinations such as Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. If you are determined to have an Asian adventure though, then Indonesia offers plenty of sea breeze. Meanwhile, Malaysia is also conducive to a July holiday and is especially notable for its conditions for diving and snorkelling.

Africa
The stifling heat during July also limits travelling options in Africa. However, the temperature remains comfortable in July in Madagascar and the same goes for the island paradise of Mauritius. Towards the north of the African continent, the situation is also slightly different. As a result, the Atlantic coast of Morocco, including the city of Agadir, which is served by an international airport is an interesting option.

South America
South America presents the opportunity to enjoy all kinds of holidays – There are excellent beaches, bustling cities and beautiful hikes and nature trails to discover. The climate is particularly conducive to July travel in Bolivia and in Peru, where the Inca Trail including the incredible 15th century Inca mountain village of Machu Picchu is a must for all adventurous travellers. Of course, this is now a well-known tourist destination and so if you’re looking for something a little more undiscovered, then it is worth considering Costa Rica. This small Central American country is renowned for its friendliness and its fascinating wildlife.

North America
Don’t forget travel possibilities in the United States too. The weather varies across the country but one outstanding attraction around the July 4 Independence Day celebrations is Philadelphia, where you can see exactly where American independence was shaped. It is also a great time of year to enjoy some of the country’s stunning national parks, such as Yosemite, which can be ideal for a camping trip.
