The Empire State Building stands at 1,454-feet and has two observatories, one on the 86th floor and the other on the 102nd floor. These observatories offer the highest vantage points in the city.
Roosevelt Island Tram
The New York Times calls it “the most exciting view in New York City,” which is saying something in a city of skyscrapers. The tram goes from midtown Manhattan to Roosevelt Island, which sits in the middle of the East River.
It’s the only commuter aerial tram in North America, and offers great views of the city during the day and at night.
Top of the Rock
Located at Rockefeller Center, the Top of the Rock has 360-degree views of Manhattan. Along with going to the observation deck on the 70th floor, you can buy tickets that include a tour of "30 Rock." There are two other observation decks that overlook "the city that never sleeps."
