I found Harmony Hill B&B to be a comfortable home away from home, with a relaxed atmosphere, kind people, and with a lot to offer its guests. Beyond the cute baby goats, the amenities are fantastic, and the owners are bubbly and great to talk to. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of places to lounge and hang out, and with lots to do and see. My room was the Minuet, which offered a spacious room on the ground floor with a sizable bed, additional day bed, living room area with lounger chair, fireplace, and flat screen TV, as well as a private bath and full closet. The walls are wood and gorgeous, and the room was tidy and pristine, and felt welcoming. Sometimes, even as a travel writer, the beds can cause me to have a rough night, but I slept like a baby both nights, which gave me the energy I needed for my planned adventures.
Breakfast both mornings was superb! First, I had fresh eggs, local sausage on toast with cheese, along with tomato, avocado, and a yogurt parfait with orange and blackberries. The second morning, I had a waffle with fried chicken and a fresh juice blend, and it was delicious. One of the best details about Harmony Hill is that they grow many of their own herbs for spices and garnishes, and most of their own vegetables which they serve fresh from the garden, and you can tell by the flavor, and the love put into each meal. Wendie and Jay are caring individuals who love what they do and love their accompanying farm. I can't wait to come back with my wife and little boy someday. It was the perfect getaway to ground ones thoughts and to relax after a stressful year of first-time parenting during a pandemic.
