An Austrian skydiver by the name of Felix Baumgartner successfully jumped from the edge of space at above 127,000ft. The Red Bull Stratos mission set out to break several records and gather precious information to further the possibilities for future space travel. He was unsuccessful at breaking the longest timed freefall by mere seconds, however among the records set today Felix will have claim for the highest freefall ever. The other amazing feat was the entire mission was streamed live via YouTube, I would expect this to be a turning point in the future possibilities of live media coverage.
