Plans come, plans go, and plans change, like anything else. Originally, the plan was for me to live in Venice, Italy for an extended period of time and work for a hostel booking website. After two months of living and working on the islands, my visitor visa time limit was up, and all of the paperwork and hoopla for a longterm work visa in the state of Veneto was unfinished, unguided and completely uncertain. The company hadn’t made long strides to further along the development, and instead, took one or two baby steps toward resolving the matter. So, all in all, it was time to move on again.

If you’ve read my Eye & Pen for a while now, you will probably notice this post as being something more of a rarity – and to be honest, you’d be right... I’ve not focused much on gear reviews, however that will slowly, but surely be changing. I think it’s important to be ever expanding and offer as much information as possible – for what might not help you really, will likely help a few other individuals, and in that, makes these worth my time and research.
A crisp, cold day coupled with a log burning fire would make anyone yearn for a winter’s holiday in the snow, and there’s no better way to enjoy the cooler months than with a skiing weekend! Perfect for sports and nature lovers alike, the perfect ski season looks pretty wonderful too.
Although I’ve mentioned my first trip of the coming new year via Twitter, I thought it relevant to officially announce my trip and its tentative routing – henceforth, I officially announce that I will be road tripping around the USA with brief stops in Mexico and Canada in 2014. Now that’s out of the way... I’ve been touring around Europe for nearly six months now and I’ve had a growing feeling that I should see more of my own country when I get the next chance to. I’ve decided to finally put an expiration date on my current wanderings, as I’d really like to visit friends and family back home in Columbus, Ohio for the holidays. I’ll be touching down November 2nd at Columbus International. But without spoiling where I’ll be heading just yet, I thought it would be nice to update my current routing, prior to my return to the states:
