CBD Review: featuring Flower Child CBD & CBG

One of the world’s most powerful compounds for natural healing comes from a plant that is among the most demonized in history. Cannabis has been labeled a drug for decades, demonized by media and political interests, outlawed with many criminalized and looked down on for even the merest mention of the plant. Now, with the advent of the internet, the truth has been able to work its way out of condemnation and into the hearts and minds of millions across the country. And that truth is that cannabis is among the most healing of plants known to man. But there’s also a lot one must understand.
Cannabis sativa contains a myriad of cannabinoid compounds found in its flowers and stalks that interact with the body in a number of intriguing ways. For instance, the vilified THC cannabinoid is the psychoactive compound responsible for the ‘high’ one can feel from smoking or ingesting the flowers of the female plant. CBD, however, is another cannabinoid that has been taking the country by storm for its healing and non-psychoactive effects.

CBD is the non-psychotropic cannabinoid found in hemp, the non-flowering part of the plant, which has been found to have inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, as well as sedating, hypnotic, anti-epileptic and anti-dystonic effects, among other healing attributes. CBD does not ‘get you high,’ as they say, but it will relax you, soothe pain, help regulate sleep patterns, control certain cancers, stimulates bone growth, and stops the growth of bacteria, as well as it suppresses muscle spasms and convulsions, slows inflammation, reduces blood sugar levels, reduces the risk of artery obstructions, decreases pressure in the blood vessel walls, helps control epileptic seizures, reduces risk of nerve damage, and eases nausea.

I’ve recently had the opportunity to work with FlowerChild’s CBD products, like their peppermint CBD 1400mg tincture, their CBG 600mg tincture, and their CBG 300mg herbal ointment salve. CBD extract oil can be taken internally, used topically, and vaped. FlowerChild’s CBD 1400 is a natural dietary supplement tincture that is a whole plant extract. They take the flowers and leaves from the cannabis plant and extract the compounds using food grade alcohol. Then the alcohol is cooked off, leaving a rich and black oil that’s filled with the plant’s essence. All of the compounds, terpenes, and flavonoids are retained in the extract, along with its unique healing properties. FlowerChild’s CBG is similar in make to the CBD, but is consisting of a lesser known cannabinoid that has also been found to have medicinal applications.

I worked with the CBD tincture for a while, using up to 25mg per day on days that I woke up feeling foggy and/or in pain, and found my symptoms to lessen. The biggest effect I found was that when using a higher dosage on days where my stress level was peaking and my anxiety running rampant that the CBD did help ease the tension I felt, and for that I was grateful. The CBG was particularly useful on days where I struggled with mental clarity, focus and anxiety. The topical CBG is lovely, made with powerful herbs like comfrey, echinacea, calendula, arnica, yarrow, and more. The CBG salve worked wonders on my sore muscles, joints, and cuts, easing the pain while inspiring quicker healing. All in all, I found FlowerChild’s CBD to be of high quality, working wonders for my daily issues. I found their products to be powerful for general well-being, and for keeping my quality of life and productivity at an all-time high.
