Often overlooked due to being tucked away beneath its older brother Australia, New Zealand is not a place to be ignored. Home to the indigenous Maori Culture and amazing habitats to soaring mountainous landscapes, the country is much more than just a terrifying rugby team. The versatile dining, adrenaline junkie culture, and beauty of the coastal metropolitan areas like Wellington and Auckland, means that wherever in the world you’re flying from, the journey will most definitely be worth it!
At cheapflights.com.au to find the most competitive deals on flights to Kiwi country, and have a vacation experience of a lifetime!
Sightseeing
Although not the capital, Auckland is the most populated city in New Zealand. With a towering skyline, the best and only way to see its best side is by helicopter ride. Spanning the city, the tour not only points out landmarks and attractions but also takes you past the coastline and over Waitemata harbour. For the most up close and personal experience to a volcano, the tour isn’t one to miss. Ranging from a quick ten minute ride to a coast-to-coast half an hour trip, there’s no better way to experience New Zealand’s most populated city.

If heights aren’t really your thing, but you still want to see the best Auckland has to offer, then why not hop on a bus instead? Running from 9am until 4pm, the bus service is perfect for those looking to get around while seeing the best bits of Auckland. The freedom to get on and off at your leisure lets you control your exploration of New Zealand’s most populous city perfectly.

Eating
For food done the Kiwi way, Auckland has a lot in the way of choice. If you’re looking for burgers with a twist, Burgerfuel has the ability to satisfy all your hunger needs. Using quality, fresh ingredients, they take the idea of the gourmet burger and show you that they know best!

If your style is a little less ‘in your face’, and you’d rather a more relaxed tear-and-share setting, then look no further than Depot. TV chef Al Brown’s restaurant takes fun and relaxation in the form of dining to new heights. With food self-proclaimed as ‘fast, fun and fresh’, there’s no-where better to sit and relax with friends while grabbing a bite.

 Things to do
For a city break on a slightly smaller scale, you can do no better than visiting New Zealand’s beloved capital! What Wellington lacks in size it makes up for in entertainment and culture, and if you’re up for a laugh, why not pop down to Wellington’s Central Park and bear witness to New Zealand’s very own Comedy Festival. Three weeks of world famous comedy is something not to be missed if you’re lucky enough to be in the capital while it’s on.

Arrive in Wellington a few months earlier from late February, and you’ll be just in time for the New Zealand International Arts Festival. Presenting acts that range from theatre and dance to music and literature, there’s something for everyone in the way of the arts – the true way to experience Kiwi culture while in the capital city.

As an Australian, I really have to get to New Zealand one day! I've heard so much about it's beauty that I'd love to hire a campervan and drive around the country.

Everyone should try and visit NZ at some time - it's a small country but has a lot to offer travellers.
