Contemplating the human condition as I experience new life with Newcon Optik

I grew up similar to a city boy, spending most of my time working on art and exploring the internet, rather than experiencing Nature. But as I grow older, the allure of the natural world has been growing ever stronger and now it’s one of the only places that I find true peace and truth as to why we’re here, and it’s helped me figure out what the point of life is, at least for me. It’s a powerful force, the connect we all share with Nature, so why do most of us ignore Mother Nature in our everyday lives? People are obsessed with their phones and their faux digital lives, and work themselves to death without finding a single shred of peace… And lots of people grow up in cities, with the sky clouded grey with smog and the stars hidden behind the veil, so it’s no wonder that our modern race as a majority are lost and have no idea of what the real world, the natural world, is like.

For me, I must limit the amount of time I spend in towns, because the hustle and bustle, and mayhem of the highways and streets give me anxiety and the selfishness of people stresses me out. Often I find myself muttering angrily under my breath. I’ve learned to limit my time around clusters of people and buildings, and so I spend my time in Nature, where peace and tranquility come easily and naturally. And so, as I sat there, along the bank of a meandering river in Coshocton County, Ohio, my thoughts moved from our connection to Nature, to my own personal revelations of peace and meaning in life, until something caught my eye and my focus snapped upward. “Wings!”

I turned and grabbed my pack. After fumbling with the zipper, I brought out my Newcon Optik binoculars and scanned the canopy overhead. Within seconds, I found that white bald head and orange beak bobbing up and down as she fed her young. I watched as baby eagles ate from their mother’s mouth. She moved from one to the next, and as each baby ate, the others would cry for more. I fiddled with the 7X magnification and it was as if I was there, right next to them and my heart flushed with something like awe and appreciation intertwining like a warmth in my heart, belly and face, and I knew I was experiencing something unique and wonderful.

I spent hours watching the family of bald eagles. The father would return from time to time, and I couldn’t decide what was more impressive, the way they landed or the way they took off. Either way, it was an impressive sight, like no other. They are such powerful, impressive birds. No wonder our country has honored them as they have. They are well-deserving of the title and security. Because as I imagine a world without bald eagles, I can only envision a world devoid of flavor, power, beauty and purity.

There’s just something special about watching an eagle care for her young. I’m thankful for the experience I had, and hope others may experience something as wonderful. The closer the binoculars took me in, the better I could make out the individual markings and feathers of each eagle, and with that, I feel as though I gained some insight, or perhaps a simple connection to the birds. I’m glad I had my Newcon Optik binos, because they allowed me the capability to stay where I was and yet see so much.

Newcon Optik is a fine optics company, specializing in military grade optical gear, from binoculars to night vision, and have recently teamed up with me to test out and write about their AN 7x50MC binoculars. Incorporated with BAK-4 Porro prisms and multi-coated lenses, these binoculars deliver an impressive light transmission and resolution, which aided me in my experience, because the view was extremely clear and the focus sharp. The AN 7x50MCs were designed with a non-slip UV-resistent rubber that both armors the unit and provides comfort for the user in all weather and conditions. So if you’re on a rugged expedition into the deep wilderness, they will function at a high level, while providing optimum comfort, even in cold weather.

I found the Newcon Optik AN 7x50MC binoculars to be very high quality made, with fantastic lens quality, clearness and focus. They are waterproof and shockproof, and are loaded with features like a military reticle and an illuminated compass. These binoculars aren’t the lightest and smallest model I’ve ever seen, but they are powerful for their size. I like the ergonomic design and feeling of the rubber, and of course, the most important aspect is how well they work visually. Hopefully from my story above, you can see how well I approve. Newcon Optik is a fine maker of binoculars that can work well for nearly any range and reason; from bird watching to military operations.
