Camping and eating well haven’t always been so in sync as they are in the modern day, with so many great technologies and well-thought out products, like the Adventure Base Camp Cook Set by Stanley. No more super heavy pots and pans, and clunky silverware, because they’ve sought out to change the way people eat and cook while they camp with this set. It’s important to have a quality cook set when you’re spending nights in the wilderness, because you never know what might happen. You might find yourself in a situation of survival, where you must build your fire completely naturally, and eat wild game to survive. It will help to have something that holds and can transport water, as well as prepare food.

I used to travel with an obscenely heavy iron skillet and a space-eating metal pan, and I killed my back doing it. It’s no easy task to backpack for days, especially when you must carry everything you need on your back, including tent, sleeping bag, clothes, toiletries, survival and first aid gear, an axe and other fire making gear, etcetera and beyond. And even worse still is having to carry that heavy cookware around, and through the forest. That’s where Stanley comes in, because they created a 19-piece set which includes cookware, tableware, prepare and drying rack.

The Base Camp Cook Set 4X is an adventure series set of cookware that is perfect for base camp, RV travel, and family camping. No only is it difficult to carry enough cookware and tableware for one, but imagine an entire family. Stanley made it easy when they designed this cook set, because everything fits inside one another, weighing less than five pounds and taking up the space of a single pan. The pans and skillet are stainless steel, while the trivet is silicone, and the utensils are nylon. Within the nesting system, how every piece of placed inside another, the largest  pot, a 3.7 quart pot, all else fits in snuggle, beginning with the drying rack, trivet, cutlery, plates and bowls, spatula and spoon, and frying pan with lid.

It’s amazing how every piece fits so neatly together, and it can’t be understated how much space and pain is saved when everything comes together like this. The pans are scratch resistent and rustproof 18/8 stainless steel, and they cook as you would expect… Beautifully. Not only do the pots and pans feel high quality, but it’s apparent when you’re cooking with them, as well as when it’s time to clean them. They are built to last long, and through a lot of rugged time spent abroad. My favorite part about the Adventure Base Camp Cook Set is that Stanley designed it with backpackers in mind, each and every step of the way; It’s extensive, lightweight, and packs up small enough to not become a burden upon the trip. Plus, it’s sizable enough to feed a family of four, yet can be stretched to feed anywhere from six to eight people. And since I camp often with my family, I can’t tell you how much of a blessing it can be to have everything ready.
