That sort of feeling and experience is possible in a lot of natural areas, which may be why Native Americans often claimed a certain track of land was sacred. I wish our ancestors would have listened. In the Rockies, I almost always feel something, like a presence, or an energy that brings a sincere feeling of peace and belonging that I never feel in the hustle and bustle of the modern human world. When I feel that ‘other’ feeling, I am often reminded that we’ve lost our way through the generations, and that the more I explore the natural wildernesses, the more I will reconnect and feel as humans once did.
When I was in Colorado, I thoroughly enjoyed the new and exciting culture that has been taking the state by storm, and never had the medicinal effects of cannabis been so strong on influencing my emotions and spiritual connection to life on this planet than when I was in those mountains. Nothing is better than packing up the car and heading up into the mountains, far from the cities and the people, the cars, trains, and planes, and to camp and simply be among the elevated forests, except when inspired by the effects of this medicinal herb.
Cannabis expands the neural pathways of the brain, inspiring true creative and strategic thought, where one might have been lacking, and bridges a connection to the natural world from which we were born of, so when you’re sitting there in the forest, where you hear nothing but the winds and the animals, there’s a special feeling and awareness that descends over you. So, not only are you thinking deeper than before, you are curious and inspired and impassioned, and since you’re influenced by this planet ally, you are connecting at a deeper level than you may ever have. That is what happened to me, and continues to happen to me in places natural and unspoiled. The one time I stayed at a very high elevation, the night cleared and the heavens were revealed among the stars clearer than I had ever experienced before, and in that moment, I understood my place in the world, and the why’s of existentialism no longer mattered as much as the love and appreciation I felt within my soul.
When I would go out among the wilderness, I never wished to flirt with the possibility of inspiring a wildfire, so I would always use a vaporizer, for its discretion as well as its flavor and convenience, and of course, lack of flame. One of my favorites is the 5th Degree Vaporizer by Prohibited, because it’s very versatile, edgy looking and reliable.
The 5th Degree vape is an all-in-one device that works with dry herb, wax and concentrates, dabbers, and even has an e-rig setup, so you can use the same thing for all of your vices. You can drop in your herb, or even cartridges, as well as concentrates with no issue. The oven chamber heats up quickly, utilizing conduction as it transforms your favorite substance to rich clouds of vapor. All in all, the 5th Degree is a great, pocket-sized vaporizer that can handle a variety of uses.
