Few places in the world feel as amazing as they look. No human cities give me the feeling of wonder and inspiration that an unspoiled natural place can. And of all the destinations I’ve seen and experienced, few places in the world feel like the Rocky Mountains do. Not only are they stunning, white-tipped (most of the year) and colossal, but they offer a unique look into the natural living world of our precious planet. When I lived in Colorado, I spent many days and nights hiking and camping along the elevated regions west of Denver, and they’ve found a place near and dear to my heart.
So much so that I lived in the Centennial State for a few years during the early days after prohibition ended, and I will forever cherish that time spent in the Rockies. Why? Because people always remember how you made them feel, right? And the same is true of natural places, some of which are more powerful than human interaction. Like when I spent a couple of weeks touring the Scottish Highlands… I went to powerful Glencoe and weeped. And for me, not being one of much tears, that was strange and yet, wonderful. A day later, a local explained to me that a great battle had occurred there, one of two rivaling families, which ended in a heartbreaking massacre of most of who was involved. And when I was there, knowing nothing of its history, I felt the sorrow, the power, and the soul of the place.

I wish our ancestors would have listened.
