Finding Truth in the Mountains with Help from G Pen

When I lived in Colorado, the Rocky Mountains always drew me in. When I wasn’t in them, among the rocks and the trees, I would stare at them in the distance and think about them, and dream of better times spent in nature. There’s just something magical, or mystical, or homey about being out far enough that I no longer hear or see signs of fellow humans, because only then am I getting back to the origins of life. A distinct peacefulness and sensation of belonging comes over me in the unspoiled wilder places of the world.

It was when I would camp, far out in the wilderness, that I would come to realize the existential truth about our world, our lives, and how we relate and connect to all of it. For me, I grew up outside of church, and then when I was fifteen I spent time at a local church, but for nearly thirteen years after that first sermon, I had struggled with the feeling of belonging, with loneliness, with existential angst and uncertainty, and it wasn’t until I road tripped around the US and through Colorado that I would come to think through the questions that had bothered me for so long.

So you could say that I found truth in the wilderness, a truth so huge, so simple, so obvious, that I began to weep. I finally understood. But it wasn’t without the help of a plant ally. For me, I grew up never trying drugs, never smoking cigarettes, and only trying my first sip of alcohol six months after I’d turned the legal drinking age in the states, which is 21. However, as I grew older, I traveled a lot, experiencing a wide variety of cultures, perspectives and new ways of thinking, and so when in Colorado, I tried cannabis for the first time. An immediate change came over me. And no, not the harmful psychosis-inducing change that propaganda had the masses believing decades ago.

This change was an ability to look at the tiniest thing and to simply consider it, in all lights, all angles, and take in all details possible, and from there, I grew to gain an insatiable lust for thinking, for knowledge, and new ideas. You can say that cannabis sparked my brain’s ability to connect new pathways, and to think deeper than ever before. While being under the influence of cannabis, and deep in the forest of the Rockies, I thought deeply as I studied the natural world around me, the animals, the plants, the stars, and from there I connected the dots, and a whole new and massive mosaic of truth revealed itself to me.

When I camp in Colorado, I like to come prepared. Discretion is always an important consideration, even in the early days of legalization, so that is why I tend to choose a portable vaporizer to take with me. Not only am I thinking of the fire hazard of choosing different methods of smoking the flowers, but I also enjoy the feeling and taste of vaping over smoking. For quick on the go usage, the G Pen Slim is a solid option, considering it looks like a writing pen, but for most trips in the state, I would prefer the G Pen Elite, which is a powerful vaporizer that can pack quite a punch by using ground herb. The best experience I had with the G Pen is when I was camped up on an elevated bald in a northern section of Colorado’s Rockies, huddled around my campfire. There, while being high as ever I can remember, I laid out on a blanket and stared up at the crystal clear night sky and after a couple hours of my mind racing, I found a greater truth. Not only were the stars clear and beautiful, but since I was higher up than ever before, I could really make out what planets were what, as well as truly seeing the Milky Way for the first time with my naked eye. Let me tell you, that was one of the most powerful moments of my life.
