Flying Out for the Holidays Has Never Been Easier

With the winter winds comes snow and another lovely holiday season is upon us. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, there is amble possibilities to bring family, friends and loved ones together, and at no time in history has it been easier than it is today. With the ever-expanding digital technologies available to each of us on our phones, computers, tablets, and now, watches, it’s easier than ever to connect… and where necessary, reconnect with family, no matter where they are in the world. Book your flight, or your train, and get the event planned in minutes, because it’s the time wasted in life that we will miss more than the time shared with our favorite people.

I spent nine months roaming around Europe one year, and I missed my family and friends more than I knew possible, and have since made an effort to be close when it mattered the most. For me, the holidays are filled with a mass of distractions. But if you remember the reason for the season, which is family and love, then all that hoopla simplifies and the worry of another Christmas alone, or another season of stress and worry simmers and a peaceful calm settles over you, because what’s most important fills your heart and your mind naturally follows suit.

Beyond the ease of booking and planning, the experience of traveling through air terminals and train depots has been on an upward trajectory, by way of luxury services, simplification of check-ins, and technological perks that keep you up-to-date and connected as you move from A to B. Now, you can charge your devices while you await your plane to board, and you can connect with free WIFI, and it’s even possible to be pampered at a spa while you wait. How cool is that?

Why not look at your trip as a vacation, even if it’s partially for business? Treat yourself and make the most of the experience, instead of suffering from boredom from long waits and irritations from bad planning? For me, when I have this mindset, I go out of my way to find positive experiences that make my time worth it and my happiness level as high as possible. A positive mind and healthy body will conquer most holiday stresses and family issues. So, I plan ahead… I setup a side trip, or a perk that betters my condition, because it eases my travel and settles my mind, allowing for a better overall trip.

Additionally, I simplify my life as I move through the motions of cross-country and international travel, which means I actively look for ways to simplify the burden of my luggage. I don’t want to worry about losing my luggage, and I don’t want to feel the strain on my back from lugging a heavy bag around, so I simplify. I recently simplified by considering all of the issues that could arise and making choices that make my circumstances better, such as purchasing a new piece of luggage that is safer, easier to use, easier to see and overall, improves my experience.

My recent goto was Victorinox Swiss Army’s Etherius Gradient Large case, which beyond it’s functional perks like optimum space and premier safety locking, the dynamic coloration of the piece makes it so easy to locate my luggage in the never-ending sea of black in crowded airport carousels. Pair that with the fact that the Etherius is streamlined for maximum capacity, built of pure polycarbonate for long-lasting use, ergonomically designed for comfort and little or no strain during use, and mounted upon 50mm Hinomoto wheels, then you can understand why a choice as simple as luggage choice can make all the difference in ones travel experience. Simplifying issues and planning ahead can make for a beautifully peaceful trip, as can the right mindset, so that when something unexpected does happen, you find joy in the important things. So, book those tickets, plan your trip, pack your bags and make this a memorable season for all of you and your special people.
