How Tailgating with Family Can’t Get Much Better: featuring Coolest Cooler

Every Saturday starting in September through the end of November is considered a Buckeye holiday in my family, and although one could argue that it’s simply an Ohio thing, I know the truth is that there are college football passionate people all over this country. In our family, it doesn’t get much better than football Saturdays, because on game day we go all out. It’s more than simply watching the game and screaming at the TV, because there’s a subtle art at play that we’ve perfected over the years. Every Saturday is a holiday as far as we’re concerned, and no matter if we show up at the Horse Shoe, on campus or simply at a local gathering of like-minded Buckeye fanatics, we make it a damn good time by pulling out all of the stops.

Our game day ritual starts with a gathering of all the OSU fans in our family with everyone taking part of our collective potluck by bringing something delicious for each of us to enjoy. Grandma makes fresh apple pie from scratch, while others bring chips and salsa and other snacks, little weenies, fried chicken, ribs, pizza and more. It’s a downright smorgasbord of absolute beauty. The guarantee every week, win or lose, is that everyone goes home in pain… I mean, not hungry, of course. Either way, it’s always a good time when we all come together, root for our team and eat to our bloated heart’s content. Few things are better than the rollercoaster that is college football, surrounded by loved ones and eating some of the finest of tastes known to man.

Yesterday, for Ohio State’s 2018 game opener against Oregon State, we went all out with the juiciest of ribs which were first cooked in the oven for 2-3 hours then seared and smoked on the grill, with sides of pie, pizza and an offensive showing like our fanbase had been hoping for for as far back as I can remember. It was a beautiful day of football, tailgating, and staying cool in the blistering summer heat. What makes our holiday special is of course the people, but it’s also the way we come together as a collective to create something worth looking forward to all year long. But one of our more recent additions that made the first game all the more special was the Coolest Cooler, which allows us the ability to bring the party anywhere, be it on campus, in the designated tailgating section near the stadium or even to the pool.

The Coolest Cooler is perhaps the most dynamic and versatile cooler in the world, because it’s so much more than a simple cooler with the singular feature being to keep beverages and food cool. This cooler is a party in a box that can go anywhere. With a built in blender, you’re able to blend cocktails and icy concoctions anytime, anywhere, but that’s just one feature that barely skims the surface. Let me explain…

The Coolest Cooler is a built-in USB charger and has an LED lid light, as well as a bottle opener for easy beer enjoyment. It has bluetooth speakers with party pairing capabilities. The Coolest comes with plates, a ceramic knife, a corkscrew wine opener, cutting board and cup holders. Wait, there’s more… It is built to last, even in the great outdoors. Oh, and it’s on wheels, has a pull stand, an accessory deck for ergonomic easy use, as well as an additional accessory storage compartment.

Working with the Coolest Cooler was one of the funnest experiences we’ve had on game day, because it’s so many things in one that it evolved how we party and tailgate. During commercials and half time, we would boom the fight song over the bluetooth speaker, then while we cooked the ribs, we simply wheeled it over to the grill and it became a serving station once the ribs were ready. Then as happy hour began, the blender and the cooler came in handy. I found the Coolest Cooler to be a lot of fun, and a versatile necessity for makeshift parties and for optimum tailgating experiences.
