Drug testing is a reality that we have to live with in today’s world. There are many situations where you will be required to assent to one form of drug testing or another. Though individual employers can decide that they want to have drug testing as part of their pre-employment or regular evaluation and promotion process, there are certain industries where these tests are almost always a requirement. Some of these include the defense, transportation, aviation, safety and transit industries.
You can read more about this here.

These drug tests can come in various forms, examples of which include saliva drug test, sweat drug test, blood drug test, urine drug test and our focus today – hair follicle drug test. These tests are usually used to determine the usage of some controlled substances.

Examples of some of these substances include: Alcohol, Cocaine (crack, coke), Amphetamines (meth, ecstasy, crank, speed), Phencyclidine (angel dust, PCP), Opiates (opium, heroin, morphine, codeine), THC (marijuana, cannabinoids, hash), Barbiturates (butalbital, phenobarbital, downers, secobarbital), Methaqualone (Quaaludes), Benzodiazepines (tranquilizers such as Valium, Xanax, Librium).

Others include: Propoxyphene (Darvon compounds), Methadone (usually used in the treatment of heroin addiction), Inhalants (paint, hairspray, glue), Hallucinogens (mushrooms, LSD, peyote, mescaline), MDMA (Ecstasy), Anabolic steroids, Hydrocodone (Lortab, Oxycodone, Vicodin).

What You Should Know about Hair Follicle Drug Tests
Since we are focusing on hair follicle drug testing, there are a few things you should know about it. This type of testing is one you should worry about the most. It’s not as common as the urine or saliva drug tests. However, should your employer or prospective employer ever ask for a hair follicle test, then be scared.

The reasons is that of all the different types of drug testing methods, this method can show drug usage from as far back as 90 days before the test. For most other drugs, testing methods, they can show drug usage from between 24 hours to about 30 days.

90 days is a whole lot of time. You will think that little indiscretions from that long ago should be left to the past. However, it is not your call. If your employer of prospective employer decides that they want to know if you’ve had some sniffs in the last 3 months, their best option will be to do for a hair follicle test.

Before you begin to shit your pants, know that 90 days is not fixed. It is largely based on the type of drugs you took and the quantity you took. Other factors such as frequency of use, your body weight and how much you exercise (your lifestyle) will also affect how long the residue of the drugs will remain in your hair follicles.

People who use very frequently, are overweight and hardly ever workout will have more to be afraid of as the residue is likely to remain in their system for the longest.

Is that the end of the matter for these ones?

Most certainly not!

We will now look at how to pass this test even with the odds stacked against you.

How to Pass the Hair Follicle Drug Test
The very first way to pass a hair follicle drug test is to stay away from drugs. Yeah, we know you are now passed that point but we still had to say it.

Since you can no longer undo what’s been done, another option you are left with is to detoxify your system.

What is Detoxification?
This is actually a naturally occurring process. When you take in any drugs – controlled or not, your body breaks this down so it is absorbed into the system. Overtime, some part of it is processed and absorbed into the body while some others are eliminated from the body through your urine, sweat etc.

You can however hasten this process by using certain substances. For example, you can increase your intake of water and also increase your body’s metabolism so the residue is eliminated faster through your urine and sweat.

There are also certain detoxification products that can help you get rid of these toxins much faster. The question however is this – will the detoxification process be fast enough? What if you have the test in 48 hours, will the detoxification process have been fully completed to yield a negative (pass) result in your drug test?

In most cases, this process of detoxification will not be your ideal solution. It is best for situations where there are no deadlines or something you are just doing for yourself.

When you really need quick results, what you can turn to is a detoxification shampoo.

Detox Shampoo
What exactly is a detox shampoo? Above we briefly described the detox process and we added that it might not be the fastest solution. So what makes this different?

A detox shampoo does not work like the regular detoxification process. While the regular detox process we discussed earlier works from the inside, the detox shampoo works from the outside. It does not eliminate the toxins from the inside but from your hair and scalp.

What this means is that you need to use the detox shampoo until you have gone for the test. Once you stop, the toxins inside your body will gradually become identifiable in your hair follicles. This makes the shampoo a great emergency solution.

After washing your hair with it for the duration required, your hair is clean for a period, giving you just enough window to quickly take the test and come out in flying colors. If you want to totally detoxify, then you can continue with the regular detox process that works from the inside.

The important thing is that this detox shampoo allows you pass your hair follicle test now. To check out a couple of options online like cleardrugtests.com/products/top-toxin-removal-shampoo-for-hair-tests.

Helpful Tips
Be sure to choose a shampoo that has been proven to be effective.
Follow the instructions on the shampoo very carefully.

If necessary, take multiple showers in a day depending on how soon the test is coming up.

Remember to remove any old items like hats, caps, pillows and any other items that came in contact with your hair before you started using the shampoo. You do not want to reintroduce the toxins into your hair.

After using the shampoo, carry out a test with a home kit before setting out for your test. This is just to be 100% sure.
