Wedding’s are beautiful moments in time, however planning one is a different story entirely. I see now why so many couples employ a professional planner to oversee the chaos that is a wedding. There are so many little decisions and logistics that need to be worked out ahead of time that it gets to be overwhelming, even with 6+ months of planning.
As of posting this, I am only a couple of months away from my own wedding and am working diligently to get ahead of all the planning, details, and decisions that are required to making sure the thing goes off without a hitch. While I’m not in charge of decorations, per say, I am focusing on music, food, personal touch and the ceremony's presentation. Not only am I writing my own vows, but I’m writing what our officiant will say, too. It’s a lot. But it’s going to be so fun, so that notion helps me power through.
This week I’ve been focusing on what my groomsmen will be receiving as my gift of thanks for their participation in the event, and I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what would be perfect for each of them. (And if they’re reading this, they’ve cheated and will be left gift-less… Only joking.)

With much searching, I think I found one of the perfect pieces to give them, among a few other additions like beard oil (for whom applicable), and a nice comb. But that’s not really enough for a well-rounded package.
I’d hate to just buy them something traditional, boring, and plastic… So, with much thought, I believe I’ve decided. I’m going to pull together a cool package of assorted items that is somewhat catered to each of their interests. A combination of beard oil, comb, grinder, maybe a book, maybe some teas? Oh, and a cigar; that’s a must… How does that sound?
With my best men being from or spending time in legalized states, I know they will enjoy something that they can actually put to use, like an herb grinder. From teas to spices, to smoke, a quality grinder can save one from a lot of headaches. The key is to find one that is made of a strong metal, with the right kind of grinding teeth inside. So I chose the Black Tie Grinder, because it’s a tidy little beast of a grinder that comes in a snazzy box, ready to be given away as a gift at a black tie event. While my wedding is far from a black tie event, since we’re going away from tradition, the effect works beautifully.
