I’ve always been a great fan of Italian food. I mean, come on, who doesn’t like tomato sauce smothering noodles, garlic bread and all the different ways similar ingredients can be prepared for extra goodness? I sure do, and truly LaCappellas was one of the best I’ve had. Everything I ate was fantastic. But let me break it down and tel you what I ate and why I start my feature out by raving about my experience.
Walking in, the original LaCappellas was a simple blue building with white walls establishment, and by looking at it from the outside at first, you wouldn’t necessarily know how ridiculously good the food is inside. My gracious host started me with a side caesar salad, and I was immediately taken away by how rich and delicious the flavor was. I asked about the caesar dressing and I was told they make it fresh in house. It was creamy, not too strong flavored, but kept me coming back for more. It was sneaky and unexpectedly great.
Next, I enjoyed a lovely cup of wedding soup with garlic bread, which was the perfect accompaniment. Soft inside and crunchy yet delicate crust, flavorful and buttery, as you always hope for. Everything leading up to my main entree was only getting me started, as it should be. The lasagna was so damn good! It was rich and saucy, and every bite sent a complex cascade of savoriness that I couldn’t help but eat slow and savor every moment of. The original building was small, with only eight tables, but let me tell you something… No matter what size of the building, LaCappellas knows their Italian food. Don’t miss a chance to stop, it’s well worth it!
