Restaurant Recommendation: Westbank Grill, Wyoming, USA

In the heart of the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming sits Jackson Hole, a tiny town with fine dining, shops, wildlife, skiing and more. Nestled against the Grand Teton mountain range, Jackson Hole offers visitors beautiful views, opportunities to ski and explore the wilder areas surrounding it, and to eat very well. My wife Leah and I visited one of Jackson Hole’s finest restaurants in the Westbank Grill inside the Four Seasons Hotel.

The Westbank Grill offers a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the area’s tourism, with panoramic views of Teton Village and Rendezvous Peak. The decor is classy but relaxed, with a lodge style design with some modern perks strewn throughout the main room. The terrace is comfortable when the weather cooperates and even when it doesn’t, the Westbank boasts table fires for guests to enjoy and to warm up to as they eat. The kitchen is dynamic and open, and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.

The Westbank Grill is essentially a steakhouse with some flare, as they serve prime cuts, local wildlife, seafood, and other delicacies. The dinner menu offers unique tastes like Rocky Mountain Elk Chop, Buffalo Tenderloin, Dry Aged Bone-In Bison New York Steak, Wagyu Beef Ribeye, Sea Bass, Skuna Bay Salmon, Quail Eggs, West Coast Oysters, King Crab, and Maine Lobster.

Leah and I shared the Elk Chop, Salmon, Truffle Mac & Cheese, Asiago Bread with peppered butter, as well we the Ricotta Gnudi which were like mini potato cakes with amazing flavor. The bar offered mocktails for Leah as she was 6-months pregnant, and an Old Fashioned for me, which was stellar. The elk was tender and mouthwatering, and the salmon was also top notch in its cook and delivery. Our sides of roasted mushrooms in Wyoming whiskey, garlic confit and rosemary were among the best we’ve ever had. The white cheddar truffle mac & cheese was properly seasoned and balanced, and bursting with flavor.

The asiago bread was a bit stronger in flavor than I like and was the only thing I didn’t care for. Otherwise, everything we had was among the best of our entire trip out west. We finished this unbelievable feast with a strawberry soufflé with mint and baileys ice cream, which was phenomenal. A serious match made in heaven.

All in all, Leah and I very much enjoyed our meal at the Westbank Grill, and we couldn’t think of a better place to stop on our adventure out west. The vibe of the grill was very inviting, busy but quiet enough to hear yourself and to enjoy the conversation at your table. The view was nice, seeing right up the mountain, but had a bit of an eyesore with the waiting line for the lift up the mountain being the first thing you see. The variety of the menu was ranging and exciting, offering all sorts of possibilities, and what’s more is that the chef and kitchen staff obviously held the quality of their work at a high standard, and it showed in every mouthwatering morsel.
