Essential oils are oil concentrates that are derived from plants, flowers, herbs, trees, roots and other organic living materials, which when inhaled via aromatherapy, or used topically, can heal*, soothe ailments and can assist in a myriad of issues. They can be used in a variety of ways, from aromatherapy to oil blends, as well as salves and other botanical applications. For me, personally, I love to blend high quality oils into medicinal salves, beard oils and balms, muscle relief salves, and other recipes that can replace my store bought botanicals and toiletries.

Almost all of the hair care, body washes, and other body care products come loaded with additives and chemicals that fill our bodies with toxins, and have a greater negative effect with prolonged use, which is why there’s been such an upsurge in organic and natural products on the market. With the popularity of essential oils, anyone can make their own at home, too, which I find to be especially exciting. Not only can you create a pure, organic concoction that does what you need and more, you can blend the natural properties of essential oils with carrier oils, butters and waxes so that you’re receiving a specialized and focused treatment for hundreds applications.

Now that I’ve been slowly learning new recipes to replace the things I use everyday, I’ve gathered quite a collection of essential oil bottles. For awhile, my shelves have looked ridiculous and chaotic, but then I reached out to Aroma Outfitters, finding their products on Amazon, and have found that their essential oil storage boxes are extremely useful in organizing oil collections. Their boxes are made of New Zealand pine wood, and are very well made, with individual spots for unto 147 5-30ml bottles. A foam pad completes the ensemble, which helps keep my precious oil collection safe while in transit. The overall aesthetic is sharp, clean, and elegant, and the overall usefulness of this type of box for essential oils can’t be understated. It’s awesome, and is exactly what I’ve been needing for my own oil creations.

Previously, I mentioned aromatherapy, which is a very popular method of employing essential oils for a myriad of ailments. Essentially, you will need at least one essential oil bottle and a diffuser. There are many kinds of diffusers, but I like ultrasonic the best, because it dispels its cool mist quietly. Aroma Outfitters has perhaps the coolest diffuser I’ve ever seen in their glass 3D Galaxy diffuser which is ultrasonic, and also includes LED lights for ultimate room mood setting capabilities. With its psychedelic colors and cosmos-like aesthetic, it’s no wonder that I find myself staring at it for what feels like ages. Not only am I relaxing and healing myself with essential oils being diffused through the air, but I’m also able to set the mood lighting in a dark room, and relax myself with mediation in between being transfixed by the depth and range of colors; and wonder of the galaxy beyond our planet.
