That’s why a high quality fixed blade is so important; as it can assist you in hunting, skinning, signaling, defense, fire making, medical, and structure building, among countless other activities, which again can make all the difference in how you react and adapt to adversity. One of my goto companies is CRKT, known as Columbia River Knife & Tool, who specialize in a myriad of cutlery, survival and tactical weaponry, and other EDC knives. They recently sent me their SIWI #2082 blade which is a small fixed blade, perfect for carrying on ones belt, in a pocket, or in a backpacker’s rucksack since it’s relatively low weight for how strong it’s crafted.
Overall, the quality of the SIWI is immediately apparent, as the handle fits snugly and ergonomically in-hand, giving the user the ability to work with precision, which is always an important feature when it comes to handling a blade as sharp as this. The thickness of the blade provides the user with a lot of years of hard use. The sheath feels high end, offering optimum safety features, along with a quality belt buckle accessory piece.
