Patagonia is famous for its wide range of sports packs, outdoor gear, clothing and more, and more recently they’ve focused on providing quality options for everyday use. Their latest line of packs includes the Arbor Grande, which is a 28 liter pack, designed for the modern digital world as it contains a laptop sleeve that fits most 15” laptops, as well as other features that I will delve into shortly. My first impression of the Arbor Grande 28L pack is that it’s very well made, with strong fabrics and seams, while the aesthetic is simple, yet well thought out.
Inside the Arbor Grande 28L is a large main compartment, and there’s a zippered front stash pocket with organizational pockets and options to help simplify storage. There are large pockets for water bottles or cord management on the sides, while the pack itself has a ‘Human Curve’ design built into the shoulder straps that help with weight distribution and carrying comfort, which by itself lends itself to the quality for the price aspect.
Overall, I found Patagonia’s Arbor Grande 28L pack to be a fine choice for everyday use, lightweight day tripping, or as a secondary pack for clothes, toiletries, and personal effects on larger camping/exploration trips, though I would not suggest it’s use as a mainstay pack for larger camping trips only because it doesn’t have the size for a lot of gear, yet with this type of build, it probably could handle some serious weight.
