Review: Mobile Pet Bed and Carrier by SleepyPod

In the market of travel gear for pets, few products stand out as being truly innovative. Carriers are usually rectangular, made of hard plastic, and rarely consider the needs and wants of the cat or dog inside. Wouldn’t you be scared if you had to fly in the storage area of a plane, in an uncomfortable plastic box? The options were limited for pet owners, until SleepyPod began producing their mobile beds for pets.

The SleepyPod is indeed a mobile pet bed, but it is so much more than that. At first glance, it’s obvious that the designers of the SleepyPod had a true love of pets and wanted nothing more than to create something better, to make their lives better. And they succeeded. The SleepyPod is a pet bed, carrier, car safety pod, and luxury bed for summer and winter weather. The pod is heavy duty and built like luggage, with its luggage grade ballistic nylon outer shell, which is fitted with a foam bed and wall, covered in nylon. The bedding is made of set shearing and the multifunctional dome top is made up of a strong nonabrasive mesh that allows the pet to remain secure inside, while being able to breath and look around without trouble.

On the top of the dome lid is a seatbelt harness that allows you to secure the SleepyPod into the backseat of any vehicle. The top zips open, straight down the middle, providing easy access and a place for the animal to play inside and out. The optional features for the SleepyPod are very cool, as they provide your beloved dog or cat with a warming pad that sits beneath their bedding, in case of cold weather, as well as an air mesh hammock, which suspends the animal above their warm bedding, and is described as being perfect for summer weather.

SleepyPod has taken their ingenious design to the next level by designing a circular heating pad that fits perfectly inside the dog carrier. Not only does this give your beloved fur-baby a warm and cozy bed, it can offer you, the pet lover-slash-traveler, a chance to keep your dog or cat happy, warm, and healthy in their pod while life happens. You can run into a store during the winter, or take your pet camping during autumn, or if something were to happen at home and your heat goes out for a time, you can at least keep your pet alive and warm. Cali loves the heating pad, but she is the embodiment of a cuddle monster, who opts to sleep 16-18 hours a day.

I found the SleepyPod to be of fantastic quality, as it feels no different than any other high end luggage piece, but built for the comfort and safety of our beloved fury friends and furbabies. I love the option to place a warming pad inside, because I know that my dog Cali would go crazy for that. She already hogs any open blanket where possible, where she burrows underneath as to completely surround herself inside, so I know she would love that. But beyond that, the overall build is high quality, and beautiful, with so many features, so that you can take your pet anywhere, safely and in optimum comfort. There’s just something I love about spoiling my dog, because if I was her, I would want a SleepyPod.

My dog is a spoiled thing too, I wonder if she'd like this. The top where it unzips might cause her to freak out LOL
