Review: Nomad’s Stylish Leather Device Protection

The fine folks over at HelloNomad.com sent over two of their iPhone cases for me to try. Nomad started out with their innovative charging products like a hideaway charging wire hidden in a wallet, or a carabiner, and now they’re specializing in stylish leather products like cases, and wallets, and other unique gadgets that allow the modern creative and/or traveler get around with minimalist ease as well as in style.

The first case I tried out was the Leather Folio, which provides an option to simplify what you have to carry on you. If you hate that bulky wallet, then the leather folio is a good option, because it holds 3-6 credit cards as well as cash. When I’m backpacking, I prefer to simplify what I carry in my pockets, and rather rely on my rucksack to bare the burden (more like my shoulders). What’s nice is that the leather folio can replace your wallet, since it bridges the need of also carrying a wallet, but what scares me is that you carry everything in one place. So, point is, never lose that one, invaluable, piece of property.

The folio is sleek, with a quality Horween leather build, and hardshell plastic casing inside that holds the phone snug in place. The case feels nice, and since it’s leather, I must comment on how nice it smells. Overall, I dig the case, but don’t feel that it fits every situation, especially for travelers, but for everyday, from home to the office type of lifestyles, I think it’s a fine fit, built well, with a classy, sleek and simple design.

The other case I tested was the molded leather, full wrap construction Leather Case, which also has a sleek look and nice feel. The leather is a real nice quality, also Horween leather from the USA. The full-wrap design provides the phone with a 360-protection, due to its raised-edge around the screen. The leather develops a rugged, and chic patina over time with use. All in all, I am very impressed with the quality of Nomad’s leather products. They fit my iPhone snugly, and keep it safe while looking sharp. What more can you want?
