The Sennheiser HD 630VB headphones may be one of Sennheiser's entry-level headphones for audiophiles, but at a price tag of right around $500, they aren't cheap, but they are every bit worth the price, and I'll tell you why...

Sennheiser sent over a pair of the HD 630VB headphones for this review and the moment I heard the first note, the first bass hit, I was sold on them. They're designed for music enthusiast's on the go, providing amazing, clear, crisp and powerful sound while delivering with features for the biggest technology buff. Sennheiser describes the HD 630VBs as having comparable dedicated amplifiers within each ear piece as a high-end home audio system, and while that claim almost seems out of this world, the sound coming from these bad boys is nothing short, by any means. The closed-back design gives the listener a world of sound all to one's own, with very little bleed from the edges of the cushioned cup.

I've tried out, owned, and reviewed dozens of headphones in my life and I found the Sennheiser HD 630VBs to be at the top of the class (for the price) – you can always spend several thousand dollars to jump into their reference or pro-studio level phones for higher quality, but I can't imagine the sound from those outweighing the 630VBs by that much.

Now, let me tell you more... The fit is comfortable and cushioned, and unlike most headphones where they begin feeling uncomfortable, they never seem to wear out their welcome. The amped cups are big and may make you feel like you have giganto-ears, and you may very well, but I found they compliment the balanced design of the headphones and the way they fit on head. The right side has bass boost and volume controls, which based on ergonomics, they are also very complementary and a fine feature to include. When these headphones find their final days, I will look for another Sennheiser pair to fill the hole in my heart, because these are now my absolute favorite travel headphones. If you want a fine pair to backpack with, these may be too large for you, however, if you're going on holiday and you have space in your luggage, snag a pair, you won't regret it!
