A striking pair of sunglasses can and will empower a person, be it through sheer confidence, or pure fashionability, either way the right pair can guide all the stars to align at times. Have you ever felt that way? Where you had the right shades to tie in with your entire outfit, so much so that you accomplish a rare mood and vibe that otherwise would have been lacking without said sunglasses? It happens to everyone, sooner or later, and sure, maybe it won’t be sunglasses that does it for you, but there’s something, an accessory, whatever, that makes an outfit what it is by tying the entire ensemble together.
For me, in my nomadic traveling lifestyle, I tend to choose the practical over the fashionable, however, when it comes to wooden sunglasses like those from my friends over at Shadetree, then you can often find the best of both worlds. One of my all-time favorite shade styles is made by ShadeTree, so I figured why not show off another of their great designs.
Today, I’m talking about their Thin Blue Line Aviator glasses, which are hand sculpted beauties, made from black ebony wood, which features, you guessed it, a thin painted blue strips that runs down the right temple and outlines the inside of the glass. On the left temple, Shadetree’s tree logo with roots is carved and painted in a bright attractive blue. The finish of the woods, the inlays and paint finishes scream class, as the Thin Blue Line Aviators feature a brushed black to grey finish then a shiny silver separator that works into the shiny ebony black ear pieces. The front face around the glass is black and the hardware is silver, bringing a lovely blue, grey, silver mix-match.

The sunglasses themselves offer a grey, darker tone on the world beyond, with the expected sun polarizing effect. All in all, I came away impressed with the overall craftsmanship and striking stylings of Shadetree’s Thin Blue Line Aviators. I really like the colors and the finer details of the glasses. They were made with law enforcement in mind, and even if you’re not an officer, I think these sunglasses are very sharp and fashionable, and can easily be worn abroad.
