Powering your life while on the move, especially when backpacking across the world, can be tricky, expensive, and can add a lot of bulk to tight packing situations. But since working with Tripp Lite, I've found options that make my life easier. From powering my devices and other electronics in the car to travel-sized power options, and my home office, they have something for everyone, and I've broke down a few of the most useful items that I've found from Tripp Lite below...

Protect It! 6-Outlet Clamp-Mount Surge Protector
-6-ft. Cord, 2100 Joules, 2 x USB Charging ports (2.1A total)

While it's a large surge protector essentially, it is also extremely versatile. Most surge protectors are awkward to place, and stick out like a sore thumb, but the Protect It! 6-Outlet Clamp-Mount is easy to work with and powerful for any power needs. I've tried it in my home office, as well as within my entertainment system at home, and I found it to work as advertised, while being versatile enough to hide in plain sight by clamping to the underside of shelves.

Protect It! 3-Outlet Travel-Size Surge Protector
-18-in. Cord, 1050 Joules, 2-USB Charging Ports

One of the most under-rated travel gear options for backpackers is a surge protector. Because, well, it adds a lot of extra space. But if you can find a small, travel-sized option, then you have the ability to bypass the competition for the sole plug in your hostel room or at the airport. You may even make a friend if you share your extra plug. Mobile multi-plug power options can be invaluable in situations where the demand for power greatly outweighs the available options.

200W PowerVerter Ultra-Compact Car Inverter
-Outlet and 2 USB Charging Ports

When traveling, there's nothing like finding a way to have coffee abroad. If I had a car inverter when I was camping in the Rocky Mountains, I would have had that capability, while also providing power to my phone, laptop, and for charging my camera batteries. It's an essential piece of travel gear if you're going place to place, in the wild, with a vehicle. It simply plugs into your cigarette lighter.

Other Products

I've also tried their phone charger and iPhone wire for cars, as well as their computer monitor converters.
I've barely scratched the surface with what all Tripp Lite offers, and since this is not meant to be a promotional piece but a review rather, I will end with my thoughts. So, without further ado: From my experience, Tripp Lite makes quality products for nearly every need and want, ranging all over, and from what I can tell, they make a solid, quality product, at competitive prices. Thus far, I've yet to find anything negative to say... What can I say? I'm a fan.

My favorite item mentioned is the Clamp-Mount Surge Protector, because of its versatility, but the Car Inverter and the Travel-Size Surge Protector fit well within my nomadic life. I maintain a home office as well as a scaled down mobile workspace for backpacking trips, so my needs can be as ranged as their product selection. So, if you're considering your power needs, you can find out more about Tripp Lite here.
