There are times when I have the opportunity to review a truly bad ass product. Today, I bring you the MEGABOOM portable bluetooth speaker by Ultimate Ears! Seriously, this speaker may look a bit different but it's oozes badassery, I promise you that. The Megaboom is a 360-degree bluetooth speaker with deep bass, and it's waterproof, lightweight, and versatile.
When I first tried out the UE Megaboom, I was blown away. I've owned and tested several different kinds of bluetooth speakers and most modern styles are small and lightweight but typically fall short when it comes to the most important aspect: THE SOUND.
The Megaboom is easy to pair with any bluetooth device, unlike a lot of third-party add-ons. UE boasts a 100-foot wireless range, a 20-hour rechargeable battery (USB charging), and an external input if you wish to remain tethered. The design is tight and the make is high quality, and I found the sound to be crisp and beautiful and capable of some serious bass. The volume seems to reach ridiculous levels, especially when you consider its size – this thing is no bigger than a one liter bottle.
It's the perfect companion for (relatively) small parties, camping trips (but try not to bother the wildlife), and basically any outdoor gathering. I can't wait to take the Megaboom out with me on my next adventure. Big fan!
