Taking A Look At Travel Headwear: featuring Tin Lid Hat Company

Proper headwear can better your experience when traveling, especially if you’re like me and love to spend beaucoup amounts of time in the great outdoors. When the sun is burning your head, neck and ears in the desert or on the beach, you’re going to be better off with a wide brimmed hat like a safari hat or perhaps a fedora if the style strikes you. When you’re among wetter climates, a safari hat can go a long way. If you want something that works anytime, any day, then a ball cap may suffice. But as important as the style of hat, so is what the hat is made of.
For sunny days of beach leisure, a straw hat may serve you best. For cold weather, a beanie or a fur or faux fur trapper hat may go a long way for comfort and survival. If you want to remain fashionable, yet ready for an adventure, perhaps try a wool felt hat that can pack flat yet hold its shape when worn. A ball cap is another good, yet simple option.

When I backpack, I bring a collapsable hat like a wool felt safari hat, as well as a ball cap. There are loads of other options on the market, so choose what you like, but do keep in mind what sort of conditions you may find yourself in, and either pack a multi-functional hat or multiple hats. It sounds simple, but without a little prior consideration, you may find yourself in a situation where the weather becomes a burden, where you might be wishing you had packed smarter. Goodness knows I’ve been there more times than I can remember.

One of my recent favorites is finding a ball cap with that has some versatile features, like quick dry, or a ranging strap that allows me to change the way it fits on the fly. A goto style that strikes my creative and fashionable sense is the Craftsman hat by Tin Lid Hat Co. and is pictures here in olive green. It’s a unique take on the ball cap with its straight bill, stiff forehead, leather side strap and faux leather back strap. First, admit it, the modern take on a classic looks cool, and second, the straps allow you to fasten things to it while allowing you the freedom to adjust size on the go. I also like their Muir hat because its been made out of recycled plastic blended with organic cotton, which ensures a comfortable fit. Besides, John Muir was the man. And I also enjoy wearing the corduroy Traverse Timeless hat, because its very comfortable, classic, and earthy.

Tin Lid Hat Company is a fun company that specializes in hats for outsiders, while also proving that all hope is not lost and that there are still good people out there… They plant a tree with every purchase. How cool is that?! Let’s be real, the earth has experienced the worst devastation of natural environment in recorded history, which is due to human activity, and while that’s a choice we make, it’s necessary for more of us to begin choosing balance rather than to violently shove the planet over the point of no return. And that time is now. I commend and applaud Jon and Will for their initiative and insight, and heart.
