The New World of Self-Healing: featuring Hakuna Supply

With the new movement of cannabis, new and exciting products are coming out all of the time. For decades, political propaganda led many to believe that anything to do with cannabis, or marijuana, even the very mention of the plant, was criminal and punishable. But since the internet has exploded all around the world, the truth about this healing and medicinal plant has come out, laying waste to the lies for once and all. Although it was once ‘common knowledge’ that cannabis was harmful, light has shined and truth has prevailed. And that truth is that cannabis is a very versatile, very healing*, and therapeutic plant that can help most people all around the world.

It’s important to understand the distinction between the many properties of cannabis, because when used medicinally it can matter greatly. For instance, the difference between THC and CBD… The part of the cannabis plant that is psychoactive is the female flowers which produce a cannabinoid or compound known as THC, which stands for tetrahydrocannabinol. THC is the compound found only in the female flowers, which does indeed ‘get you high,’ but then there’s also CBD, which is found in the stalks and leaves of the non-flowering male plant, which only produces seeds. CBD is the non-psychoactive cannabinoid that has shown great promise as a medicinal compound, typically extracted and used in vaping, in topical creams, and edibles.

CBD has been found to have inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, as well as sedating, hypnotic, anti-epileptic and anti-dystonic effects, among other healing attributes. CBD does not ‘get you high,’ as they say, but it will relax you, soothe pain, help regulate sleep patterns, control certain cancers, stimulates bone growth, and stops the growth of bacteria, as well as it suppresses muscle spasms and convulsions, slows inflammation, reduces blood sugar levels, reduces the risk of artery obstructions, decreases pressure in the blood vessel walls, helps control epileptic seizures, reduces risk of nerve damage, and eases nausea. Not only does cannabis react intuitively with our body and our endocannabinoid system, it has a multitude of benefits when used properly. The popular dark horse of cannabis is of course it’s drug-like intoxication sensation that is brought on by smoking or consuming THC. But THC has been found to have its own therapeutic properties, like helping boost appetite, while surpassing epilepsy symptoms, and easing pain.

One of the exciting new products available on the new legal market is that of storage, like locking stash boxes and other discreet options, which are important for concealing the plant’s flowers and extracts from younger ages. And since the movement has only really gained steam over the past decade or so, there are still a lot of closed minds who don’t have a proper understanding of this powerful medicinal herb and so sometimes discretion is easier than trying to teach old minds new things. I recently had the pleasure of teaming up with Hakuna Supply out of California, who specializes in discretionary storage options like fine wood boxes, locking book boxes, grinders, jars, and more. They are also gearing up to offer CBD-infused coffees, which can really take the edge off.

Hakuna Supply sent over their XL Walnut Lock Box, which is a beautiful, premium line of stash boxes that offer safety and privacy with a major touch of class. Offering their Signature Boxes in mahogany and walnut, Hakuna Supply takes pride in the quality and luxury of their work, which is immediately evident upon checking out their lock box. The wood is beautiful, smooth and the box is finely made, with each offering a removable tray and three compartments inside.

The bundle kits for their Signature Boxes include a few glass jars with wood tops and a premium grinder (which is really, really nice). Each jar holds 1/8oz and can offer a safe place to keep the smell down and the herb safe, clean and fresh. All in all, I was blown away by the precision of their work, as the Walnut box screams class, while keeping the fact that one self medicates on the down low. As legalization continues to creep slowly across the nation, I look forward to what other innovations come from this movement.

Super useful list, thanks for posting. I've also switched to a healthier lifestyle with SportMe running app and trying to sneak in some runs into my travel destinations. For now, everything works smoothly.
