Functionality is to be expected but when it comes to the perfect daypack, it’s often that fashion and class are lacking more often than not. And since good looks aren’t always guaranteed when it comes to travel day bags, it can take some looking around, especially if you’re within a constricting budget. My significant searched and found her preferred day bag in the form of Madewell’s stylish Prague Satchel, which is a duffel-style bag that works great for strolls around foreign destinations.
For the ideal daypack, choose something that is built well, and keeps your belongings safe, because bag snatchers and pickpockets are everywhere. Make sure the bag can break down and fit inside your luggage for easy transportation, yet is capable of holding a great deal when in use. That’s why Madewell’s duffel-style satchel works so well for international travel. You will want it to be comfortable, to feel good when you wear it, and for the style to fit what works for you. But a little advice; if you’re worried about people targeting you as posh, you may want to consider that when choosing what you take with you.
The Prague Satchel is a small, medium-to-large purse-sized bag that is open inside, providing a deceiving amount of space which can work great as a quick over night bag, or as a travel day bag. The inner compartment has a pocket on the side, and overall, is large enough for a change of clothes, a novel, wallet, and some makeup, so it’s sized just right for the perfect amount of versatility. Top handles provide a briefcase duffel feel or you can sling the bag over a shoulder with the included adjustable leather strap. The satchel’s design offers a timeless, classy feature, while spoiling the wearer with fine Italian leather that was vegetable-tanned and specially washed to add a subtle patina. The leather is feels great and is smooth, smelling very fine indeed. All in all, I found Madewell’s Italian leather Prague Satchel to be a fine day bag, and is now my significant other’s goto daypack and overnight bag. It flattens and travels well, and can also work perfectly as a carryon bag that can easily stow beneath any airplane seat.
