Rome is beautiful year-round. Each season offers something new for travelers to see and do. Summer, late fall, and early spring are popular for visiting Rome for different reasons. Summer is most popular because of the weather, while fall is popular because of the savings that can be achieved.
July and August see the heaviest tourist traffic in Rome because the weather is warm and the chance of rain is slim to none. But the summer is perhaps most ideal for sightseeing and dining outdoors, which is why so many travelers plan their trips during this time. The only drawback to summer travel is the big crowds and long waits in line at many attractions.

November and February are the least popular months in which to visit Rome. November is typically the rainiest month of the year and February is known for being cold. However, travelers can expect lower hotel rates, which is a definite advantage.

Heat up your Italian adventure with a visit to Mount Vesuvius, on the west coast of Italy.  It’s the only active volcano on mainland Europe, and happens to be very beautiful in the fall. It’s considered to be one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world due to its proximity to neighboring Naples and the surrounding towns on the slopes nearby.

Circa 200 B.C., Romans took control of Pompeii.  But it wasn’t until August 24, 79 A.D., that Vesuvius erupted, completely destroying the town of Pompeii in ash and soot, killing around 3,000 people, the rest of the population of 20,000 people having already fled.  The city was preserved in its original state from that fateful day. Today, Pompeii is an outdoor museum of the ancient Roman settlement, and is something that shouldn’t be missed when touring Rome.

If you want to see Pompeii, look no further than Dark Rome Tours.  They offer exclusive day trips to Vesuvius and Pompeii from Rome. The full day tour takes you from Rome to Pompeii to discover some of the world's most fascinating ruins. Touring with a guide is preferred due to the depth of knowledge they possess about the history of the city and that infamous explosion. Using official, licensed tour guides, you will get a well-rounded view of Pompeii, and perhaps meet some new friends along the way.

During your tour in Rome, your small group will be provided with headsets so you can be sure to catch every word your guide speaks.  You will have an exciting and informative experience which will leave you feeling satisfied.  You traveled a long way to Italy, now it’s time to make the most of your trip.
